Description

Ferrous lactate, a common iron fortifier and a food additive, is widely used in the food industry. Due to its good solubility, stability and high bioavailability, ferrous lactate has become an important component of iron nutrient fortifiers.Ferrous lactate is a white or slightly yellow crystalline powder with hygroscopicity. It is readily soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. Its molecular formula is C6H5FeO6 and its molecular weight is 214.95. Due to its good water solubility, high stability and non-toxic side effects, ferrous lactate is widely used in food, beverages, health products and other fields.

High bioavailability and excellent absorption efficiency
Fe²⁺ (divalent iron) form: It exists in the form of organic ferrous and can be directly absorbed by the intestinal tract without being converted into Fe³⁺. The absorption rate is 2-3 times that of traditional ferrous sulfate.
